We are all faced with difficult and overwhelming challenges in life. Through therapy, Kristin works to foster a sense of acceptance, self-awareness, and self-compassion, offering client's support and appropriate challenge as she walks with her client's to address these difficult experiences. With a large amount of experience working in a college counseling setting, Kristin enjoys working with this population and understands the difficulties that often emerge during this stage of life. Kristin feels equipped to work with a wide array of issues, feeling as though no concern is too big or too small to seek help.
Kristin is a licensed clinical psychologist that obtained her professional degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. Formally trained as a generalist, Kristin finds that she works from an integrative lens, naturally leaning towards a client-centered, strengths-based perspective. Often, Kristin likes to integrate aspects of Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. Mindfulness, self-compassion, and appropriate challenge are often integrated in to her work, assisting individual's to live in accordance with their values, obtain a sense of life meaning and purpose, and develop a greater understanding of their own life narrative.
Kristin has a strong commitment to social justice. She continually strives to unveil and better understand her own privileges while appreciating the intersectional diversity of all clients. Kristin believes therapy is an opportunity to enter a brave space, leaving room to discuss concerns and experiences regarding oppression, power, and feelings of inequality.
Currently, Kristin sees clients age 18 and above.
